I was Born in Agana, Guam, and raised between California, Florida, and Hawaii. Most of my adult life has been spent living and working in Honolulu, Hawaii and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
I have over 20 years of real estate sales and management experience. My career began in 1999 with commercial real estate broker, Colliers Monroe Friedlander. I transitioned to residential real estate in 2001 when I joined Prudential Locations. During my first year I was named Salesperson of the Month (highest dollar volume) and was nominated for the Honolulu Board of Realtor’s “Newcomer of the Year” and the Aloha A’ina People’s Choice Awards. During this same year I also founded a residential real estate holding and investment company.
Having enjoyed success as a broker and investor, I decided to embark on the challenge of a lifetime in 2007 by becoming the co-founder and Executive Vice President of Century 21 Brazil Real Estate, a sub-master franchise encompassing the entire country of Brazil. Between 2007 and 2013 I was instrumental in introducing the iconic global brand to the Brazilian market and opening more than 120 independently owned and operated franchises in 20 states and the Federal District. Much of my time was spent teaching franchisees and their agents in the best practices and marketing techniques I had used successfully in Hawaii. During this time I learned Portuguese, married, and to this day speak both languages fluently.
They say you can take the boy from the island but not the island from the boy, and this was certainly true in my case. After many years living abroad I realized how much I missed our island lifestyle and working at the brokerage level, so I returned home in 2014, reactivated my Hawaii real estate broker’s license (RB-18853), and started working as the Principal Broker of Hawaii Sands Realty in 2015.
I am grateful to be back home in the islands and doing what I love most…helping my clients to buy, sell, and professionally manage their greatest investment(s) and, by doing so, ensuring that quality long-term housing is available for our island residents.
